In advance of the upcoming Autumn Conference, we are planning an evening of discussion (and pizza!) to look through the key motions that will be discussed at Conference, to discuss our position on these and consider whether to submit any amendments.
If you plan to join us at Conference (and we hope you will) this is a great opportunity to listen to speakers' views on the matters, and share your own. If you cannot join us, this will give you the opportunity to share your views as we prepare for the Conference votes. Although this is set up by Tower Hamlets, we welcome everyone from across London and beyond.
Dinner and discussion will start from 6.30, in the Kafe 1788 in Poplar. We suggest a £10 donation to cover the cost of pizza and venue hire.
The draft agenda for our Brighton Conference is out, and these are the motions we will be debating:
“Safe and Free”: security and online privacy
An End to Homelessness
Tackling Corruption and Corporate Crime
Adopting Pre-exposure Prophylaxis
Combatting Racism
“Opportunity to Succeed, the Power to Change”: statement of Party policy
UK and European Collaborative Research and Erasmus
Campaign to Save Parent Governors
Restoring Access to Justice
Investing in the Green Economy
“Mending the Safety Net”: social security policy
Future Transport
We will also be having discussion of the outcome of the Governance Review, and the Constitutional Amendments that follow from that, specifically addressing the structure and membership of the Party’s committees, the commitment of the Party to delivering diversity and the creation of a post of elected deputy leader.
Please contact Stephen on 07505 982212 if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you there!
