St Katharine's and Wapping Riverboat Pier

UPDATE (14 April 2022)

Joined by residents, St Katharine's & Wapping candidates, Dominic Buxton and Mahbub Alam, presented our petition for a new riverboat service at Wapping Pier to Tower Hamlets Council on 16 March.

Following the meeting, we received a positive written response with the Council willing to “participate in an exercise to determine the potential costs and benefits of the proposal”.

As elected councillors, Dominic and Mahbub will keep working to bring a riverboat service to our community.

You told us you want a riverboat service in St Katharine’s and Wapping. We listened!

At present the service can only be accessed at Tower Pier or Canary Wharf.

Dominic Buxton of the St Katharine's and Wapping Liberal Democrat ward team wrote to Caroline Pidgeon AM, Chair of the Transport Committee, pointing out that our community would benefit from local access to the Thames Clippers service.

In response, Caroline raised this on your behalf with Transport for London and arranged a meeting with them and Thames Clippers, to look into the feasibility and possible sites.

Following a site visit at King Henry's Wharf, the St Katharine's & Wapping team launched a petition to demonstrate support from local residents for such a scheme.
