Local residents support Wapping speed camera petition

Residents have been telling us their concerns about cars being raced through the quiet streets of Wapping.  So the local Lib Dem team has worked through the summer to petition for speed cameras to be installed in key locations.

Thanks to local residents’ support, we have now collected over 700 signatures for our petition - that's almost 10% of the total number of residents in Wapping.  Along with Lib Dem Councillor Andrew Cregan, we will now submit the petition to the Council and demand that action be taken immediately.

Wapping Lib Dem activists Liza Franchi and Stephen O’Shea said “The support we have had over the last few months has been amazing - local residents keep telling us how important this is, and the Wapping news sites have been supporting our campaign too.  Now we need to get the Council to take action!”

Councillor Cregan said “I am happy to support this important petition. Residents in Wapping have been complaining about speeding cars in Wapping for years, it's great that Liza and Stephen have stepped up to take action.”
